15 million crowns to support children’s groups of the Czech Academy of Sciences

Over the next three years, nearly two hundred children and their parents, researchers at the Czech Academy of Sciences, will benefit from a substantial financial donation. The funds will go towards the administration of six children’s groups in Prague and subsidized places for children in Brno. The parents of the youngest children will thus find it easier to combine their childcare duties with those of their demanding scientific careers.  Read more

Supporting scholarships of the Faculty of Science

We have made a donation of CZK 240,000 to the Endowment Fund of the Faculty of Science, Charles University. The donation will be used for scholarships for PhD and Master's students of the faculty going on internships to gain valuable experience in foreign scientific workplaces. Read more

The fellowship will support ten young parent scientists

Parenthood and cutting-edge science – two missions that require the whole person, but which young scientists at the beginning of their career often struggle to combine due to the lack of sufficient institutional support. This is why many of them quit science before they can change the world or why they postpone parenthood so as not to lose touch with science early in their careers. The Martina Roeselová Memorial Fellowship seeks to help them in this situation. The IOCB Tech Foundation will now support ten researchers with a total of CZK 1.5 million. Read more

With Kateřina Sam on Martina Roeselová Memorial Fellowship, science and family

Kateřina Sam, a recipient of the Martina Roeselová Memorial Fellowship, returned to České Budějovice in 2017 to head the Laboratory of Multitrophic Interactions at the Institute of Entomology of the Biological Centre of the CAS.
